If you have seen the film “I Am Love” with Tilda Swinton, you will recognize this place. The villa with its small pool was the main location of the movie. You can visit the villa, though the tickets have to be booked in advance as you can enter it only with a guided tour. But even if you don’t visit the villa, you can have a nice time here. The villa is surrounded by a little park and is adjoined by a little café/restaurant. Sit beneath the pool and enjoy a little breakfast with a cappuccino and a cornetto (also called brioche in the north of Italy and similar to a croissant). Unfortunately, you are not allowed to swim in the pool.
From time to time, especially in summer, Villa Necchi Campiglio hosts public events. For more information, visit the website of FAI (Fondo Ambiente Italiano), where you can find also other beautiful FAI properties. The Fondo Ambiente Italiano (= The National Trust for Italy) takes care of special places in Italy for the benefit of present and future generations and was inspired by the National Trust for England, Wales & Northern Ireland.
